Shweata relayed feedback from the game play session in Cambridge last week.
- Played by: Peter Murray-Rust and his neighbors, the Logans.
- Design: more sign posting with respect to names, symbols, etc both on the board and cards.
- Game Mechanics: The link between Khayal and Janta movement unclear.
- Content: dilemma unclear at times. Some terms did not mean much to the audience.
- The players only cared about the description, their moral stance as an individual and their assumption of the stance of their faction. Numbers did not matter.
Ideas:
- Have narrative holding the complexity together. Everything can be explained in politics.
- Have meaningful categories to guide the players through the complexity.
- Have Pralay cards.
How do we work on feedback?
- There are similar themes emerging, but how do we work on them?
- Work independently first, collaborate next. For example, say we all agree on Pralay cards, we have slightly different conceptions of it. We all independently flesh out the idea and find the middle ground.
- But, people have different timelines, ideas evolve, some get forgotten, how do we deal with the messiness of the process to make progress?
- Proposal: Bootcamp for 2-3 hours to flesh out ideas. In general, having a special kind of meeting to do a specific task is useful. Have a general convention to follow.
We worked on Nagarathna grant; deadline tomorrow (15th March!)
From next week onwards, we plan to have an agenda every week so we have something to work towards.
Agenda for next week (21st March)#
- Test the tabletop for 30 min.
- Work on slides, possibly.
- Work on the story fresh.
- Work on Instagram profile.
